What labels does a garment need to go on the market?
We love fashion! For us it is a fundamental pillar in our day-to-day work and we are always up to date with the latest trends. The change of season always brings a new style to our closet: new colors, shapes, innovative materials, prints, styles… and also new clothing labels!
However, for our company, the seasons start a little earlier, just at the moment when we create the labels for your new fashion collection or your textile garments.
Do you know what labels your garment needs to go on the market?
We tell you, keep reading…
Clothing labels you need to sell
The importance of labeling: there are specific regulations that regulate the labeling of textile garments to inform the buyer about the product they are buying as well as its origin and the materials that make it up.
Current regulations: Law on Labeling and Composition of textile products. This is the regulation governing labeling and it is important to use it as a guide to find out what are the mandatory elements that your labels must show: name of the manufacturer or importer and its registered office, national identifier number and composition. All this information must be seen clearly and in the language of the territory where it is going to be marketed.
What kind of products are we talking about? Today we want to tell you how to correctly label any textile product. These are raw, semi-manufactured, or ready-made products that are made up of textile fibers. Products of this type are also those that are made up of 80% textile fibers. Without forgetting those textile products incorporated into other products. For example: clothing, home textiles or any other product made of textile fibers. All of them need to meet certain standards for proper marketing. If you are creating your product with great care, do not forget the labeling because it also represents your brand.
Some details to keep in mind.
All mandatory indications defined in the law indicated above must appear visible and be easy to read for the buyer.
– Will you sell your product wrapped? Then you need to display the tagging information on it as well so that it is always visible.
– If the product that you are going to launch on the market is made-up or knitted, the label must be sewn on the product itself. With the exception of socks and stockings, the composition label may be attached to the garment itself.
– Specific conservation information or other details such as waterproof or fireproof must appear with their corresponding symbols and correctly differentiated.
– Both wholesalers and retailers may label textile products with registered trademarks.
Product that does not require labeling: These are some products that, according to annex III of the Law on Labeling and Composition of textile products, labeling is not mandatory: painted canvases, felts, pads for sticking pins, toys, textile material covers for books, toiletries, ropes, textiles for animals…
Make your espadrilles shine
Summer is coming and… who doesn’t have some espadrilles in their closet? It is a beauty shoe with tradition and a basic that is in fashion year after year.
Among them there are a wide variety of styles. And a very particular and characteristic complement that decorates this summer jewel is the label.
We start from the different areas of the shoe that can be decorated from the most to the least visible, such as the sole. All of them can be decorated using different materials, from the taste for leather, to the opulence of the fabric, displaying background prints, solid colors, personalized shapes including the option or not of adhesive. Mixtures of fluorine, metallic colors, holographic backgrounds,… also make the model of the label printed on a cotton or polyester support perfectly complement this original shoe.
Details that inspire each season mean that, in this case, your shoe will have a place among the others and how not to recognize the brand through a distinguished element.
For each campaign, we think of designs for our most modern and daring labels, joining the trends of each season and letting our customers know.
