Today we speak with Álvaro, founding partner of Zapatillas Morrison, he tells us about how the company was launched and how labeling has been a fundamental part of the product development process. Especially his experience with Etimed:
Etimed: Can you tell us about Morrison? How the brand was born.
We started three years ago manufacturing in Elche and selling online. To launch the brand we had to do a crowdfunding (collective financing method). Since in principle we did not have money to invest, this allowed us to launch our products with a starting price of €39. Thanks to this we were able to raise money to launch the brand on the market. Later we created our own online store.
Last September we launched the international market with the 2018 collection thanks to another crowdfunding.
And in the last year we have started with the offline launch of our products. Now we have our own store in Madrid, in Goya. In addition, we work with more than 12 stores, in different communities in Spain.
Etimed: Why did you decide to work with ETIMED?
At first it was a supplier of our initial manufacturer, we started in Elche. Therefore the first motivation was proximity.
We have the peculiarity that we have the logo on the back of the shoe, and it was Etimed who indicated the quality of the label for the logo. From here we create the rest of the labels that today make up our final product, and that also give it character and are the hallmark of our brand.
The shoe has three labels, the first on the side. A second one in the back, and a third one that is sewn on the insole. All of them 100% corporate with the brand logo.
Etimed: What was the challenge you raised?
We needed a label that would be durable and would not tear when bending the shoe, as the side label is right where the foot flexes.
Etimed: How was the process?
We went to see our commercial there, Felipe, whenever we have gone with a problem he has given us solutions. He tested us with different thicknesses of labels, and from there we chose the one that best suited our product. The commercial has always responded by offering us a quick response to our problems. The process has been very simple and fast.
Etimed: Do you think that labeling has served to improve the product?
Yes of course, first the side label that is 100% the identity of the shoe. With the peace of mind of knowing that it is a label that does not cause problems. In addition, the one on the back makes the shoe more recognizable and corporate.
Etimed: Have you repeated the process with other products? Do you think we have gotten involved to give added value to your brand?
We have been so happy, and the label defines the concept of our brand so well, that it has become our hallmark. We have made more products, in this case t-shirts and we have decided to add labels on the sleeves.
Etimed: In general, how has the experience been?
Very good, personally Etimed works very well. Contact with Felipe is excellent, he always responds quickly. It is totally an added value, one of the best suppliers we have.
